Greenville Photographer: My Family Portraits :)

I've been telling my husband for weeks that we NEED to get family portraits this year. Well, it's now or never so I did them myself :) Not the easiest task in the world, but doable. We went out in our back yard at our apartment complex and took some pictures. I have no individual shots of my littlest... she was extremely uncooperative. But at least I got some of her with the others :) {Might I add that Photoshop is currently my best friend??} I'm pretty happy with them. Can't wait to send the family picture out for Christmas so I'm keeping that one to myself. ;)

I love the colors in this one:

Greenville Photographer: Getting The Most Out Of Your Family Portraits {Pt1}

So, I've decided to offer a little series that I'll be posting about on Mondays called: Getting The Most Out Of Your Family Portrait.

This morning I came across an article written by another photographer, Renee Booe. As moms we really stress about family portraits. {So much so that I just did ours myself!} There are so many things that go into it: what to wear, when, what location, kids behaving, hubby being supportive, etc. Renee really breaks down some things to help us moms cope with the stress of **dun, dun, dun** the family portrait. Here is a link to her article: 5 Things Every Mom Should Do Before Their Family Portrait Session. I hope you enjoy the article and get some good info out of it, I sure did! :)

Check back next week as we discuss the importance of the family portrait :).

Greenville Family Photographer - Our Trip to the Apple Orchard

Seeing as how we've recently moved to Greenville. We really enjoy exploring our new home. We drove up to Hendersonville, North Carolina to visit an apple orchard: Stepp's Hillcrest Orchard. It was so awesome. We walked through the gift shop to look at their treats. We got some apple bread which was awesome. We walked through the apple trees and picked a few but because of the freeze there weren't many left. We grabbed a little wagon and walked down to the Pumpkin Patch. The kids picked their very own pumpkin and were very excited about it. Keep your eyes open for images of carving the pumpkin :). I wish I had gotten more images, but I was having fun playing too :)

Walking through the apple trees.
See all the apples that are on the ground :( So sad.

Ben was so tickled that there were actually apples that were growing on the tree! :)

There was a dairy farm next door to the orchard. The kids had fun throwing uneatable apples to the cows.

The pumpkin patch! With a mighty fine pumpkin I must say :)

Also, we got some baking apples and I made apple pie.
Should've taken pictures but I didn't :(.
I will next time!

GREENVILLE PHOTOGRAPHER: Our New Home {Personal}

Every now and then, I like to post some images of my family and what we've been up to lately. :) I took these images about a week after we moved into our new apartment. We relocated from Florida to Greenville South Carolina. We needed a change and made the jump. A very gut wrenching jump. But we a here now, my husband landed a good job, and I've booked my first Greenville session! Very exciting :)

This is my Ben. He was watching "Tar-toons". :) Oh the language of a child.Greenville Photographer

A Flower for You!

Spent the evening outside with my awesome family. My two oldest rode thier bikes and my littlest in a stroller. I took this image of a flower and just had to share it with you. It was absolutely perfect. Definately the prettiest of all. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do. :) I am actually considering selling fine art prints of these sweet little pictures I get. Would anyone be interested? Send me a message and let me know! :)

When was the last time you had family portraits?

Has it been that long? Fall Family Portrait Season is approaching quickly. Now is a great time to book that session that you've been meaning to book.
I know from personal experience that if you put off your portrait session for too long, it may not happen. My mother and I had been planning to do a portrait session for about a year, never really taking it too seriously because we could ''just do it later''. Then in March, we very suddenly, very unexpectedly lost my Dad.
Please don't put off something so important, because you never know what tomorrow may bring. Your family is your greatest treasure. :)

Heath & Casey | Central Florida Couples Photographer

I have known Heath & Casey for many years. We more or less grew up together. Casey contacted me about having their pictures done. Come to find out, they are leaving tomorrow for Kentucky! A whole new life awaits them and they will be missed.
For their session, we drove out to Bok Tower in Lake Wales for a session. We had a blast laughing and talking. Enjoy the images and let me know what you think! :)

Personal: Horse Ranch & Alpaca Farm

So, while I am up visiting in Georgia this week, we went to a horse ranch and an alpaca farm.
When we got to the horse ranch, we walked through the stable and then they let you just wander their property looking for horses. While we were out in the field, a horse galloped up to us and wanted some attention. All the kids liked him and petted him. While I was kneeling down taking the pictures he would nudge me and try to knock me over. It was awesome hanging out today and I can't wait to go back. :) I hope you enjoy...
